Painless blood in the urine: when is a comprehensive workup essential?
Blood in the urine is generally a very alarming symptom, and, as you just mentioned, if it causes no pain and no complaints, it is considered even more alarming. In such cases a comprehensive workup is needed: cystoscopy, computed tomography, and during cystoscopy even retrograde urography, that is, a contrast agent is injected.
Any pathology in the urinary tract is then either detected or ruled out. In such cases it is essential that we always carry out a comprehensive workup. This is a very important symptom.
